Parking for Cars:
Complimentary parking is available in the A & C permit spaces in Lot 7 (near the intersection of Tate St. and Oakland Ave.) after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and any time on weekends. Accessible parking is available behind the Graham Building in Lot 7, in front of the Nursing & Instructional Building in Lot 13, behind the Stone Building in Lot 15, and at 996 Spring Garden St. If you will need an accessible space during a weekday matinee performance (before 5:00 p.m.), please inform Theatre Manager, Joshua Ritter, at [email protected] in advance so he can provide you with a complimentary permit. Please do not park in the spaces reserved for the Weatherspoon Museum or the businesses (E.g., FedEx, Manhattan Pizza & Subs) across from the UNCG theaters. If possible, we recommend being dropped off at the theater for the easiest access.

Parking for Buses:
Bus parking is available on Kenilworth St. To get to Kenilworth from Taylor Theatre, take a right on Spring Garden St. Then, take a right on Stirling St. (across from Yum Yum Better Ice Cream). From there, take a left on Theta St. After that, take a left on Kenilworth St. Parking is available on Kenilworth St. It says “No Parking,” but this is only for cars. The spaces on Kenilworth which are reserved for buses are between two red & white signs marked “Bus Parking Only”. When parking, please pull as far forward as possible to allow room for other buses.

General School of Theatre Policies:
- There is a fee for exchanges unless patrons are current Member Angels or higher, a School of Theatre faculty member, or an undergraduate or graduate theatre major or minor.
- We only accept checks, Visa, and Mastercard as forms of payment.
- We do not offer ticket refunds per CVPA policy except in rare extenuating circumstances.
- Late seating is at the discretion of House Management and may not be immediately available. Late patrons will be seated in the closest available seat for their safety.
- The use of photographic, video or audio recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited during our productions. If a guest is found to be recording the performance or taking pictures during a production, ushers or the house manager will ask them to delete the content and stop immediately. If the guest does not comply, they will be asked to leave.
- Food and drink are not permitted in School of Theatre venues.
- Only service animals are permitted in School of Theare venues. All other animals are not allowed to enter during performances.
- All guests must have a ticket for entry.
- In all instances except for North Carolina Theatre for Young People productions, babies in arms are not permitted.
- We share some guidance with the public, but It is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to research and judge if the content of a performance is appropriate for their child’s age and level of maturity.
- Please take a moment to locate the nearest emergency exit closet to your seating area. In the unlikely event of an emergency, please remain calm, and follow the instructions from the ushers (dressed in white and black with a name tag) and the house manager (dressed in all black with a name tag).

Summary:
Episode 1 of I❤️COLLABORATION will be screened on Saturday, August 26th at 4pm in the EUC Auditorium. I❤️COLLABORATION is a 13-episode mockumentary web series which follows a class whose final exam is hijacked by the graduate teaching assistant who was humiliated by someone in the class. The web series is a co-production of the UNCG School of Theatre and the UNCG Department of Media Studies. Scoring for the episodes is being done by the UNCG School of Music. After Episode 1 is screened, there will be a short talkback with some of the people (both in front and behind the camera) involved. After the public screening on the 26th, a new episode will drop weekly beginning Sunday, September 3rd.

Summary:
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
One of Sondheim’s most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy. Designers will especially enjoy highlighting the fantastical elements of this magical word. – Musical Theatre International

The story takes place in the home of the wealthy Orgon, where Tartuffe—a fraud and a pious imposter—has insinuated himself. He succeeds magnificently in winning the respect and devotion of the head of the house, and then tries to marry his daughter and seduce his wife and scrounge the deed to the property. He nearly gets away with it, but an emissary from King Louis XIV arrives in time to recover the property, free Monsieur Orgon, and haul Tartuffe off to jail. And so his duplicity is finally exposed and punished. [where•else] is the School of Theatre’s first Community Based Theatre Project as part of our production season. Led by professor Robi Arce-Martínez, students from UNCG will embark on a journey using storytelling, multiple disciplines, interviews from their communities, and lived experiences to create a new devised performance from the ground up at the Elsewhere Museum in downtown Greensboro!

What is the Elsewhere Museum?
Elsewhere is a living museum, artist residency, and learning laboratory set within a three-story former thrift store in Greensboro, North Carolina. The building houses an immense collection of things amassed by Sylvia Gray, who gathered wares over the course of 58-years. The store was once a furniture store, fabric store, surplus and secondhand store. The space now provides a context for site-specific experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and public participation.
The rule at Elsewhere is that everything that is being created in the residencies need to incorporate objects that are already in the building. Example: If one artist stages their performance with a door nailed down to a chair, the next artist in residence could come in, destroy it and create something new with the parts. About the Amplify Black Voice Theatre Festival:
Get excited for the Amplify Black Voice Theatre Festival 2024, happening right in Greensboro this April! The Greater Greensboro Theater Consortium, in collaboration with local colleges and community members, is bringing together a dynamic celebration of Black voices in theater. The festival kicks off with a welcoming event and reception, followed by two thrilling evenings of theater on April 26 and 27, featuring two captivating plays each night.
The festival kick-off event will be on April 6th from 1-5pm at North Carolina A&T State University. It will begin with a party including live music and refreshments from 1-2pm, followed by meetings for each production team and their first rehearsals from 2-5pm. Everyone is welcome at the Kick-Off party and admission is free. The reception will take place at the North Carolina A & T General Classroom Building at 1601 E Market St, Greensboro, NC 27411.
But there’s more—after the curtains close, the stage will come alive again with insightful discussions. Audiences will have the chance to engage with the cast, playwrights, and esteemed guest speakers such as Kamilah Bush and Michael Dinwiddie, diving into the themes of Black stories, lives, and the ongoing conversation on racial equity.
This festival was born out of a collective response to the national call for racial justice in 2020. The Greater Greensboro Theater Consortium, uniting seven local college theater departments, including institutions like Bennett College, NCAT, and UNCG among others, aims to amplify Black narratives through the power of theater. Our inaugural festival in 2022 laid the groundwork, inspired by Greensboro’s deep-rooted legacy of social justice and civil rights activism.
The Amplify Black Voices Theater Festival continues to champion new playwrights from the Greensboro area, offering them the opportunity to develop their work with professional playwrights and dramaturgs. This festival is not just about staging readings; it’s about premiering new works that center the Black experience, fostering dialogue, and inspiring change.
